Apart from the publishing of a Quarterly magazine, the society organises other events and activities as well. Among the regular events is a virtual monthly talk, normally on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 11.00 a.m. IST. In 2021, we organised our first International Conference in March. Other areas we have pursued are organising guided tours on interesting rail sections, visits to rail sites, publishing of books, training of volunteer guides for the National Rail Museum, debates and quizzes among school children, etc.

There will be no talk in the month of March owing to the conduct of the Annual International conference in the same month. The next talk will be on the 19th of April 2026 at 11.00 hrs. (Indian Standard Time).
6TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE RAIL ENTHUSIASTS' SOCIETY
The Rail Enthusiasts' Society (RES) is organising its 6th International Conference on the 7th and 8th of March 2026, on the theme "Rail Trails: Tales of Iconic Trains". Knowledgeable and well-travelled speakers from Australia, Japan, UK, USA and, of course, India will talk to you of iconic trains from across the world. The conference will be virtual in the zoom format. It will start daily at 12.00 hrs. (Indian Standard Time) and end by 18.00 hrs. with 6 speakers on each date.
